New hope for blood cancer patients: gentler treatment trial seeks to control disease

Summary
This study is testing whether a combination of two drugs, venetoclax and rituximab, works better than standard chemotherapy for people newly diagnosed with Waldenström's macroglobulinemia, a rare blood cancer. The goal is to see if this chemotherapy-free approach can control the disease effectively with fewer side effects, especially for older patients. About 80 participants across three countries will receive either the new drug combination or the standard treatment for comparison.
