Trial aims to control rare blood cancer without chemotherapy
NCT ID NCT03620903
Summary
This study is testing a new combination of three drugs (bortezomib, rituximab, and ibrutinib) for people newly diagnosed with Waldenström's macroglobulinemia, a rare blood cancer. The goal is to see if this 'chemotherapy-free' approach can effectively control the disease while potentially causing fewer severe side effects than traditional treatments. The trial will enroll about 53 adult patients who have not yet received any treatment for their condition.
