New laser eye treatment challenges standard for glaucoma

NCT ID NCT07408154

Summary

This study compares two laser procedures for glaucoma, a condition that damages the optic nerve and can lead to vision loss. Researchers want to see if a newer, non-contact laser method is as good as or better than the current standard at lowering eye pressure over a year. About 172 adults with open-angle glaucoma or high eye pressure will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two treatments and followed for 12 months.
