New test aims to speed up UTI diagnosis and identify resistant bacteria

Summary

This study is evaluating a new diagnostic test called the QIAstat-Dx cUTI Plus AMR Panel. It aims to see how accurately this test can identify the bacteria causing complicated urinary tract infections and determine which antibiotics they might resist, compared to current standard laboratory methods. The research will use leftover urine samples from 1,500 patients of all ages who are suspected of having a complicated UTI.
