Laser-Guided ultrasound aims for perfect vein catheter on first try

NCT ID NCT06958731

Summary

This study is testing a new T-shaped ultrasound probe combined with a laser pointer to help doctors place a central line catheter into a neck vein more accurately on the first attempt. It will compare this new method against the standard ultrasound technique in 352 adult patients needing this procedure for surgery. The main goal is to see if the new tool leads to fewer complications and a higher success rate on the very first try.
