Headband could simplify detection of dangerous blood vessel leaks

NCT ID NCT07414446

Summary

This study is testing a new portable ultrasound device called SONAS, which is worn like a headband, to see if it can accurately detect abnormal connections between blood vessels in the heart and lungs. The device is being tested on 40 adults with a genetic condition called HHT who are already scheduled for a standard 'bubble' heart ultrasound test. Researchers will compare the results from the new headband to the standard test to see if it works just as well and if it can tell where the leak is coming from.
