Scientists develop new tool to gauge the true burden of breathlessness
NCT ID NCT02229994
Summary
This study aimed to test and validate a new questionnaire designed to measure breathlessness and how it limits daily activities in people with chronic lung diseases. Researchers enrolled 199 adults with conditions like COPD, cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension to see if the questionnaire was reliable and sensitive to changes, such as after a rehabilitation program. The goal was to create a better tool for doctors to understand and track this common and distressing symptom in clinical practice.
