Spit-Free TB test trial aims to find missed cases

NCT ID NCT07420881

Summary

This study aims to test a new, simpler method for detecting tuberculosis (TB) in community settings. It will evaluate a tongue swab test that doesn't require sputum (phlegm), making it easier to use for people who have difficulty producing samples or live in hard-to-reach areas. The research will involve 60,000 participants across Bangladesh, Cameroon, and Nigeria to see if this approach can help identify more TB cases that current methods miss.
