New stitch technique aims for smoother eye surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT07244276

Summary

This study is testing a new way to stitch a tissue graft in place during surgery to remove a pterygium—a non-cancerous growth on the eye. Researchers want to see if a continuous compression stitch causes less post-surgery discomfort and leads to faster healing compared to the standard stitching method. They are enrolling 40 patients with a primary pterygium to compare the two techniques.
