New surgical patch aims to prevent dangerous scarring after cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07241091
Summary
This study is testing a new, absorbable collagen patch placed during surgery for cancers that have spread inside the abdomen. The goal is to see if this patch can help prevent serious complications like bowel blockages and wound problems that often occur after this major operation. Researchers will compare the patch to standard surgical closure in 60 patients to see which leads to fewer complications and a better recovery.
