Could a simple stool test replace unnecessary colonoscopies?

NCT ID NCT07471490

Summary

This study is testing a new stool test designed to help doctors tell the difference between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Researchers will compare the new test to standard methods in 300 people who are already scheduled for a colonoscopy as part of their regular care. The goal is to see if this test could help some patients avoid unnecessary colonoscopy procedures in the future.
