New heart device trial offers hope for irregular heartbeat patients

NCT ID NCT05164107

Summary

This study is testing a new medical device that uses pulsed electrical fields to treat atrial fibrillation, a common type of irregular heartbeat. The device creates a detailed map of the heart's left atrium and then delivers targeted energy to disrupt the abnormal electrical signals causing the condition. Researchers will enroll 175 participants who have atrial fibrillation and are scheduled for a catheter ablation procedure to evaluate the device's safety and effectiveness.
