Major trial tests Next-Gen pneumonia shot for seniors

Summary
This study is testing a new vaccine called VAX-31 that aims to protect against more strains of bacteria that cause pneumonia and other serious infections. It will enroll 4,000 healthy adults aged 50 and older to compare the safety and immune response of VAX-31 against two existing vaccines. Researchers also want to see if the immune response in older adults is similar to that in younger adults aged 18-49.
