Scientists hunt for early warning signs of dangerous drug reaction

NCT ID NCT05279079

Summary

This international study aimed to find new, better markers in blood and urine to detect and predict how severe drug-induced pancreatitis will become. Researchers enrolled 175 adults, including patients with pancreatitis from drugs or other causes, other pancreatic conditions, and healthy volunteers. They measured specific molecules to see if they could provide earlier or more accurate information about this serious drug side effect.
