First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested a new surgical technique during Whipple surgery for people with resectable periampullary tumors. The method uses an omental wrap and surgical glue to protect the connection between the pancreas and intestine. The goal was to see if this approach lowers the risk of a pancreatic leak, bleeding, or delayed stomach emptying. Thirty participants were enrolled, and the study is now complete.
