First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This small study tested a newly developed ostomy baseplate designed to better protect the skin around a stoma. Thirteen people with ileostomies tried both the new baseplate and a standard one for 6 hours each. The main goal was to see if the new baseplate reduced itching between 4 and 6 hours after application.
