New back injection could offer alternative to spinal anesthesia for hip surgery pain

NCT ID NCT07427082

Summary

This study tested a newer numbing technique called an erector spinae plane (ESP) block against the standard spinal anesthesia for hip and thigh bone surgeries. Researchers wanted to see if the ESP block could provide similar pain relief during surgery and lead to longer-lasting pain control afterward. They compared the two methods in 66 adult patients to find out which was more effective and safe.
