New pain block tested for breast cancer surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT07367568

Summary

This study is testing which of two nerve-blocking techniques works better to reduce pain after breast cancer surgery. Researchers will compare a newer method (costotransverse foramen block) against a more established one (erector spinae plane block) in 110 women undergoing mastectomy. The goal is to see which technique provides better pain relief and reduces the need for strong painkillers like morphine after surgery.
