New injection battles Chemo's worst side effect

NCT ID NCT02106494

Summary

This study tested whether a new injection called APF530 works better than the standard drug ondansetron at preventing nausea and vomiting in cancer patients receiving strong chemotherapy. The trial involved 942 adults who were starting their first round of chemotherapy known to cause severe nausea. Researchers compared how well each treatment prevented vomiting and reduced the need for rescue medications during the days following chemotherapy.
