Breakthrough trial offers new hope when standard lung cancer drugs stop working

Summary

This study is testing whether a new drug called izalontamab brengitecan works better than standard chemotherapy for people with advanced lung cancer that has a specific genetic change (EGFR mutation) and has stopped responding to their current targeted therapy. The trial will involve about 600 participants who will be randomly assigned to receive either the new drug combination or standard chemotherapy. Researchers will compare how long patients live without their cancer getting worse and look at overall survival rates between the two treatment approaches.
