Global race for better lung cancer treatment targets rare mutations

Summary

This global Phase 3 trial is comparing a new drug called firmonertinib against two existing standard treatments for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has specific, less common EGFR genetic mutations. The study aims to see if firmonertinib can better control the cancer's growth and is safe for 480 participants who have not yet received treatment for their advanced disease. Participants will be randomly assigned to take either the new drug or one of the standard treatments daily.
