Doctors test artery-blocking trick to make inoperable liver cancer operable

NCT ID NCT07326189

Summary

This study is testing a new two-step surgical approach for a type of advanced bile duct cancer that is normally considered too risky to remove. First, doctors will block the main artery feeding the tumor to encourage new blood vessels to grow. A few weeks later, they will attempt to surgically remove the cancer. The goal is to see if this strategy helps patients live longer by making a risky surgery safer and more effective.
