Breakthrough implant could free amputees from painful sockets

Summary
This study is testing a surgically implanted device for people with above-knee amputations who have trouble using traditional socket prosthetics. The device is anchored directly to the thigh bone, aiming to improve comfort, function, and daily wear time. Researchers will follow 100 participants for up to 5 years to see if the implant is safe and helps them use their prosthetic leg more effectively.
