Race for a better treatment against deadly lassa fever

Summary
This large international trial aims to find better drugs to treat people hospitalized with Lassa fever, a serious and often fatal viral disease in West Africa. It will test several new and repurposed medications against the current standard treatment, ribavirin, to see which ones are more effective at preventing death and organ failure. The study involves over 1,700 participants across multiple West African countries.
