New laser technique aims to save sight in diabetes patients

NCT ID NCT07315802

Summary

This study is testing a new pattern of laser treatment for people with an advanced stage of diabetic eye disease called proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). The goal is to see if this new approach can better control the disease and stop its progression while causing less damage to side vision compared to the standard laser treatment. Researchers will follow 300 participants for at least two years to measure their vision, eye health, and need for additional treatments.
