New injection fights dangerous joint infections after knee replacement

NCT ID NCT06889701

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a new drug called TNP-2092, injected directly into the joint, can help treat serious infections around artificial knee joints. The study will involve 33 people who have developed infections after knee replacement surgery, either recently or from bacteria spreading through the bloodstream. Researchers will check if the injection is safe, how the body processes it, and if it helps clear the infection when used alongside standard antibiotics.
