New drug trial aims to slow scarring lung disease

Summary
This study is testing whether an experimental drug called BI 765423 can help people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a serious lung-scarring disease. About 71 adults with IPF will receive either the drug or a placebo via monthly IV infusions for 3 months, while researchers measure changes in their lung capacity and other health markers. The main goal is to see if the treatment safely improves lung function compared to placebo over 12 weeks.
