Tiny implant could replace monthly addiction shots

NCT ID NCT07269873

Summary

This early study is testing a new implantable pellet that slowly releases naltrexone, a medication used to treat addiction, for up to three months. Researchers will compare this implant to the standard monthly injection in 30 healthy volunteers to see how the body processes it and check for safety. The goal is to see if this implant could provide longer-lasting treatment with fewer clinic visits.
