New drug aims to ease the strain for critically ill patients on ventilators

Summary
This study is testing a new injection called Tegileridine Fumarate to see if it can safely and effectively keep ICU patients comfortable and sedated while they are on a mechanical ventilator for 2-3 days. It will compare the new drug to an existing standard sedation medicine in about 120 adult patients. The main goal is to see if patients can stay at the target level of sedation without needing extra rescue pain or sedation medications.
