New hip implant coating aims to fight infection and improve healing

NCT ID NCT03113981

Summary

This study is testing a new type of hip replacement implant with a special coating. The coating is designed to help the implant bond better with the patient's bone and reduce the risk of dangerous infections. Researchers are comparing this new coated implant to the standard version in 340 patients to see if it works as well or better for long-term stability.
