New keyhole surgery aims to fix hernias faster with less pain
NCT ID NCT06474403
Summary
This study is testing a new, less invasive surgical technique to repair parastomal hernias, which are bulges that can form near a surgical opening in the abdomen (a stoma). The goal is to see if this 'keyhole' surgery leads to a faster recovery, less pain, and a lower chance of the hernia coming back compared to the standard open surgery. Researchers will follow 50 patients who have this new procedure to track their results over a year.
