New pill challenges standard hepatitis b treatment in major trial

Summary

This study is testing if a new daily pill, ALG-000184, is better than the standard drug tenofovir at controlling the Hepatitis B virus. It will involve about 200 adults with chronic Hepatitis B who are not currently on treatment. Participants will take one of the two pills for 48 weeks to see which one more effectively lowers the amount of virus in the blood.
