New heart valve design aims to outperform current standards
NCT ID NCT07194265
Summary
This study is testing a new artificial heart valve called DurAVR against currently approved valves for people with severe aortic stenosis, a dangerous narrowing of the heart's main valve. About 1,650 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the new valve or an existing one and will be followed for up to 10 years. The goal is to see if the new valve is safer and more effective at preventing death, stroke, and heart-related hospital stays.
