First-in-Human trial tests new Heart-Zapping catheter for dangerous rhythms

Summary

This is the first human study to test the safety of a new type of catheter used to treat dangerous irregular heartbeats (ventricular arrhythmias). The device uses a combination of energy sources to create small scars in heart tissue to block faulty electrical signals. The study will enroll 10 adults whose symptoms continue despite trying at least one standard medication.
