New tech aims to make heart rhythm procedures safer and more effective

NCT ID NCT02681926

Summary

This study tested a new computer tool called VISITAG that helps doctors during a heart procedure for atrial fibrillation. The tool automatically tracks where the doctor applies energy to the heart, aiming to make the procedure more effective at stopping irregular heartbeats and safer by avoiding complications. Researchers followed 200 patients in Italy for one year after their procedure to see how well the tool worked.
