New Heart-Zapping balloon offers safer fix for irregular heartbeat

NCT ID NCT07320976

Summary

This is the first human study testing a new balloon-shaped device that uses brief electrical pulses to treat a common heart rhythm problem called atrial fibrillation (AFib). The goal is to see if this new method is safe and can effectively block the faulty electrical signals from the heart's veins. The study involves 35 people with a specific type of AFib and will check if the treatment lasts for at least three months.
