Tiny catheter tested to fight diabetic blindness

NCT ID NCT05697809

Summary

This study aimed to test a new way to treat diabetic macular edema, a swelling in the eye that can cause vision loss. It compared two doses of a long-acting steroid medicine delivered by a special illuminated catheter against a standard steroid implant. The trial was stopped early by the sponsor after only 3 people were treated, so no results are available.
