Second chance for sight: new eye surgery aims to fix failed repairs
NCT ID NCT02946372
Summary
This study tested a new eye surgery technique for people whose macular hole did not close after a previous operation. A macular hole is a small break in the center of the retina that causes blurry and distorted vision. The new procedure involved repositioning a thin layer of tissue (the internal limiting membrane) to try to seal the hole, offering a potential new option for patients who had unsuccessful prior surgeries.
