New shot in the eye aims to halt diabetic vision loss

NCT ID NCT07228559

Summary

This is an early safety study testing a single experimental injection (avoralstat) into the eye for people with diabetic macular edema (DME), a cause of vision loss. The main goal is to see if the injection is safe and tolerable. Researchers will also look for early signs that it might reduce swelling and improve vision in the 9 participants over 24 weeks.
