New Vision-Saving injection challenges standard treatment in major eye disease trial

Summary
This study tested if a new eye injection called BAT5906 works as well as the established drug Lucentis to control wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of vision loss. Nearly 500 patients received monthly injections of either BAT5906 or Lucentis for a year to see which better preserved or improved their eyesight. The goal was to see if the new treatment could be a comparable option for managing this chronic eye disease.
