New eye implant could drastically reduce injections for diabetic vision loss

Summary
This study is testing if a new, long-acting eye implant called EYP-1901 can control vision loss from diabetic macular edema as well as standard aflibercept injections, but with far fewer treatments. It will involve about 240 adults with the condition, comparing the implant's effectiveness and how often treatment is needed. The goal is to offer a more convenient option that maintains vision while reducing the burden of frequent eye injections.
