New eye drug challenge: can it beat the standard for saving sight?

NCT ID NCT05520177

Summary

This study tested if a new eye injection called 601 works as well as or better than the standard drug (ranibizumab) for treating vision loss caused by fluid buildup from a blocked retinal vein (BRVO). 351 adults with this condition received monthly injections of one of the two drugs for 6 months, followed by less frequent injections based on their eye's response. The main goal was to see which treatment was better at improving vision and reducing swelling over one year.
