Faster radiation schedule tested in battle against tough esophageal cancer

Summary
This study is for people with advanced esophageal cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. It aims to see if a shorter, more intense course of radiation combined with chemotherapy and immunotherapy works better and is as safe as the standard, longer radiation schedule. All participants first receive a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy drugs, then are randomly assigned to receive one of the two radiation approaches.
