Summary
This study tested a new surgical technique for clearing blocked bile ducts, often caused by gallstones. Over 1,500 patients had either the new, more precise method or the standard procedure. The goal was to see if the new technique caused fewer complications and could help patients avoid having their gallbladder removed later.
