Hope for rare gut cancer: trial tests 'Smart Bomb' drug

Summary

This study is testing a new drug called enfortumab vedotin for people with advanced small bowel cancer that has stopped responding to standard chemotherapy. The drug is designed to target a specific protein found on many of these cancer cells. Researchers will give the drug to about 27 patients to see if it shrinks tumors and is safe to use.
