New hope for hard-to-treat breast cancer: experimental drug combo enters final testing

Summary

This study tests whether adding the experimental drug BNT327 to standard chemotherapy helps people with a tough-to-treat type of breast cancer (triple-negative) that has spread and cannot be removed by surgery. About 558 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either BNT327 plus chemo or a placebo plus chemo. Neither participants nor doctors will know who gets which. The main goals are to see if the combo slows cancer growth and helps people live longer.
