New neck disc implant aims to replace painful fusion surgery

NCT ID NCT05740176

Summary

This study is testing a new artificial disc called the Synergy Disc to see if it works as well as the standard spinal fusion surgery for people with severe neck and arm pain from worn-out neck discs. It will involve 200 adults whose pain hasn't improved with other treatments like physical therapy or medication. Researchers will compare the new disc implant to past results from fusion surgery, checking pain levels, neck function, and safety over two years.
