Diet flip: study challenges old rules for dialysis Patients' potassium
NCT ID NCT06120608
Summary
This pilot study is testing if a new dietary advice approach works better than the standard one for dialysis patients with high potassium levels. Instead of just limiting fruits and vegetables, the new advice focuses on reducing potassium from highly absorbable sources like processed foods, juices, and milk. About 50 adults on regular dialysis will try one of the two diet plans for three months to see which is more feasible and effective at controlling potassium.
