Summary

This study tested if a new drug called HTD1801 works as well as an established drug, dapagliflozin, for lowering blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. It involved 367 adults whose diabetes wasn't well-controlled on metformin alone. For 24 weeks, participants took either the new drug or the standard one, while researchers compared their blood sugar levels and safety.
