Lab-Made membrane aims to outlast standard in jawbone repair
NCT ID NCT07281053
Summary
This study tested a new, lab-made membrane designed to last longer in the body to see if it works as well as or better than the standard collagen membrane. The goal was to better preserve jawbone after a tooth is pulled, which is a crucial first step for a successful dental implant later. 55 people who needed a tooth extraction and a future implant had their socket grafted with either the new membrane (using one of four techniques) or the standard one, and results were compared after three months.
